As a fairly new quilter, I saw a picture of a bargello quilt and became very intrigued. With the encouragement of my quilting friends, I took on the challenge. What do you think?
I started with two packages of 2 1/2" strips from the Northcott Sandscapes collection.
I added some lovely pine needles accent fabric (If I had it to do over, I'd probably use more strips of this accent fabric in the center of the bargello pattern). This also served as a border and as cornerstones.
Then I found this complimentary golden border fabric.
Along with pillow shams made from the leftover fragments and a new bedskirt, my husband and I are both delighted with the end result. Now to change the bedroom carpet. Lol!!
Go ahead and give a bargello a ... GO ... ! You'll be glad you did!
