Gathering up the Fragments

 Once I finished the quilts for 6 of my grandchildren, it was time to "gather the fragments" and create a string quilt with the leftovers for their parents.  What a pleasure to make this for our son and daughter-in-law!  

 I used pieces of fabric that were between 1" - 2" wide to make the 10 1/2" square blocks.  Two different widths of sashing created an appealing "Stained Glass" effect. A local longarm quilter did a great pantograph from edge to edge so that it was then ready for the binding.  It made for a wonderful surprise gift!
