Fitted Crib Sheet

 My dear sister has a crib mattress for her grandson that is apparently not the same size as most fitted crib sheets.  I found some nice soft flannelette in suitable "boy" colours, that worked ideally to keep the mattress flat and cozy.

Baby Boy Crib Quilt

 I had several scraps of  various blue flannelette fabric with cute little boy type patterns.  I decided to make a baby boy crib quilt.  Here's the layout that worked with the fabric pieces I had.

                           I started with a random, staggered arrangement of 4 1/2" wide pieces                                                                                     to create these "I Spy" strips.                                                          The sashing is a fun and busy circles fabric.

The end result is this soft, cozy crib quilt.

Inspirational Christmas Quilt

 What do you do when you have a cute inspirational mug rug kit but you don't particularly care for mug rugs?  Well, I decided to incorporate them into a Christmas quilt.

I wanted to try a double shadow box quilt block.  This rug mug kit provided the ideal foundation on which to build.  The 7 inspirational blocks got sprinkled among similar blocks that had an alternate Christmas fabric in place of the phrase.

"A balanced diet means a cupcake in each hand."

"Every day should be an adventure."

"Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen."

"Be the reason someone smiles today."

"Dream, inspire, share, smile, believe, create."

"Be your own kind of beautiful."

"Make today so awesome that yesterday gets jealous."

The finished quilt became a valued gift for a granddaughter:
